Jump
A poem, personified
This poem stands on its feet and feels the ground beneath it sinking.
It says, “ Stay inside your body, so you can feel it too.”
The endings turning themselves forward as your breath begs to pull back.
This poem wants to feel your heart beating.
The exhilaration that comes from the redirect.
This poem invites to move before language ends.
Here we are, now jump!

Okay!
I feel this, but I am not much of jumper. Too busy looking both ways … even so, I’d rather not do it alone. Together.
Maryanne, I am subscribing to you and will read through all that you have posted, in time.
I am no one special, a poet like yourself, perhaps. I’m afraid I am much too complicated and convoluted, and all too often quite verbose. Your poetry calms me and if I linger long enough, I actually begin to exhale again. Thank you 🙏
